Anger is a physiological response to pain, frustration or fear. When we allow it to command our minds, we are acting out of the primitive brain stem, circumventing our most skillful fore-brain and limiting ourselves to basic, unthinking behavior. While "our own best interest" may be the primitive response to anger, the best response is a reasoned one in most cases. Our own best interest is not always clear or the most desirable, Christ-centered response. In other words, your thoughts control your feelings, and angry feelings are half-witted.

“Anger is meant to be listened to. Anger is a voice a shout, a plea, a demand. Anger is meant to be respected. Why? Because anger is a map. Anger shows us where our boundaries are. Anger shows us where we want to go. It lets us see where we have been and lets us know when we have not liked it. Anger is meant to be acted upon, it is not meant to be acted out. Sloth, apathy and despair are the enemy. Anger is not. Anger is our friend. Not a nice friend. Not a gentle friend. But a very very loyal friend. It will always tell us when we have been betrayed. It will always tell us when we have betrayed ourselves. It will always tell us it is time to act in our own best interest”.

Interesting, Brad. I guess France and England have learned lessons we'll have to learn the hard way. In France the Muslim housing areas do not even allow French police access. Their "law" has no consequences for Jihadists. The housing areas just breed fanatics and terrorize their women. I recently saw a concerted and successful effort by Muslims to take over all 100 of the available subsidized apartments opening in one beautiful complex here in San Diego. A deserving, needy local woman detailed the takeover to me, but my letter to the editor of our paper didn't get printed.

Keep up your good work.
